How To Prevent Pain From Heels


High heels…the most common and integral part of every women’s wardrobe. We do love the way classy high heels make us look. Tall, modern and  of course  sexy. But the health problems associated with heels are never ending. We may see Angelina and Nicole kidman wearing 4  inch heels and running around in screen but it is not so easy in real life. Here are a few tips to avoid pain from heels-
  • Use an antiperspirant – even if your sole helps in reducing sweat and absorbing it,  a little bit of moisture in the air can cause the straps of your shoes or sandals to irritate and chafe  your skin. Thus resulting in blisters.
  • Most important of all, Buy shoes that fits! Even a a few extra pounds can alter your shoe size.
  • Buy leather shoes and avoid synthetic. Leather is more easygoing
  • Always buy shoes at evenings. Swelling can cause dramatic change in shoe sizes.
  • Avoid really high heels. If you use heels in your day to day life, don’t exceed your heels by 3 inch.
  • Wear a regular heel height. Unstable heel height can effect your Achilles tendon
  • Get a regular pedicure.
  • Stretch your toes in regular intervals. This helps improve blood circulation to your toes which are the poor bearers of your heels’ cruelty.
  • Core strengthening exercises will help calm down your feet after wearing heels 
  • Dip your feet in warm salted water for about ten mins. after that, gently massage your feet using a pain reliever (if you experience severe pain) or massage a moisturizing lotion to help your skin and feet be relieved of the stress from heels.

Ten Commandments For Make Up


  1.     Use a foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. Wrong color is nothing but disaster.
  2.        Enhance your eyes. Eyes are the attention grabbers of your face. Make sure that you define them in right way. If you intent to wear no eye make up brighten them up with a light  touch of mascara.
  3.      Eyeshadows are not meant for painting your eyes its for enhancing your eye area. It is a must for eye shadow colors shouldn’t be the same as that of your eye ( blue eyed should skip blue eyeshadow)
  4.      Always use quality cosmetic products and use professional make up brushes.
  5.       Do not wear full make up every time and every day – a simple make up ( foundation, concealer,  lip color and mascara) will be enough for office  whereas evening parties call for shimmering make up.
  6.     Do not overdo lip gloss. If overdone instead of a beautiful shiny glow, your lips will look as if you are drooling.    
  7.   Do not skip lip color. A touch of right shade of lipstick can lighten up up your face.
  8.     Don’t overdo with mascara, clumpy messy lashes are pretty awkward
  9.       Make sure that you don’t overdo your eyebrows. Too heavy as well as too thin, drawn with pencil eyebrows makes you look older.
  10. Use a concealer which is not too dark or too light. Using wrong concealer will make your eyes look odd no matter how attractive they are

The first and most important step is to know is what your skin undertone is. There are 3 types of undertone. Warm, cool  and neutral.
Here is a simple procedure to know what your skin tone is:
  1. 1.       Stand in sunlight check your wrist - if your skin is pale and veins are blue then you have a cool skin tone if your veins are less visible then you have warm skin tone. But if your veins are some what visible you belong to neutral tone (rare tone).
  2. 2.       Which suits you most ? gold or silver

   Gold – you are warm
   Silver – you are cool
    Both – neutral
For warm undertones:

Shades of certain browns , cappuccino and caramel will suit you the best. You also can have red orange corals and wine in your wardrobe.Lipsticks with yellow or orange undertones (not too bright orange) are meant for you.

For cool undertones:

Stick to colors like peach, pale pink.  Also classic beige, rich raspberries and blue reds will suit you.Sheer natural colors too will look great on you.
For neutral undertone:
You’re the fortunate..Almost every color will look good on you. However your complexion and color of lips have to b considered.

Some tips to be remembered:
  • ·         Consider your eye make up while choosing lipstick. If you are wearing a heavy make up wear a light shade (unless your in the cover of playboy magazine!) . Otherwise you tend to look lyk a clown. Likewise if your wearing minimal or no eye make up at all you can go with a brighter catchy shade.
  • ·         Women with larger lips can use purples or bronzes. Those with smaller lips should use  peach, apricot etc.
  • ·         Wear lighter and matte finish lipsticks at day time. Keep away glittering ones for evening parties.

Homemade Facepacks for Fair Glowing Skin




Even before the word racism hit our dictionaries, people around the globe from ancient times have considered fair skin as a sign of beauty. Many spend a significant amount at beauty for attaining glowing skin with chemicals. Here are 6 natural homemade face packs which can be made easily and can help you improve your complexion.

Almond & milk face pack- This is undoubtly the best way for smooth clear and fairer skin.
Method:  soak 5-6 almonds in water during the night. Then peel the brown skin off them and smash to get a fine paste, add a few drops of milk and leave it on your face evenly for 15-20 mins. Use this pack at alternate days for the first week and then twice a week. The results will be astonishing.

Honey, lemon juice and milk powder - for instant fairness and to prevent tanning
Method: take a spoon of good quality milk powder add half a spoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice. Apply for 15 mins and wash off with warm water

Turmeric pack - The Traditional Indian way to clear fair skin

Method: take a spoon of fine turmeric powder, a few drops of lemon, a little  gram powder and few drops of milk. Using warm water, turn the mixture into a fine paste. Apply on face and leave for 20 mins. However people with dry skin should avoid this face pack.

Tomatoes- natural cleanser
Tomatoes are rich in citric acid. Slice a tomato and gently rub it on your face. Wash off after 15 mins. You can see your skin glowing instantly.

Cucumber and limejuice face pack  -  For skin lightening and healing sunburn
Method: take a tablespoon cucumber juice, a few drops of lemon juce half, a teaspoon of turmeric and glycerin (for dry skin). Mix all the ingredients and apply on face. Wash off after 15 mins. For best results make sure you use it twice a week.

Pappaya :  way to quick glowing skin
Mash a slice of ripe papaya and apply on your face for 10 – 15 mins. Wash off gently by massaging facial skin. You can see the instant glow.
