Balanced diet for hair - What you eat inside does matter..Before
the shampooing and oiling make sure that you take foods that compliment hair
growth. Salmon, packed with omega 3 fatty acid helps in promoting hair growth. Also
add nuts, dark green vegetables, carrots and eggs in your diet
.
Take milk products - Include low fat dairy products such as
skimmed milk and yoghurt in your daily diet
Oil massage your hair – once or twice in a week massage your
hair with oil (coconut oil or olive oil are the best) using your finger tips
massage the oil gently in circular motion to your scalp
Minimize shampooing – no matter what they say, shampoos don’t
have much to do with luxurious thick locks. If you have oily hair shampoo twice
a week with mild shampoo . if that’s not enough use green gram powder to wash
off extra oil
Choose hairpacks according to your hair type and climate – instead
of applying whatever you see in beauty and healthcare articles, find a hair
pack which suits your hair type and the climate of the place you live in. for
ex: though applying henna is good for
hair it should be avoided during winter season as it will weaken the roots of
hair. Fenugreek pack though helps reduce hair fall, it should be avoided by
those with extremely dry hair.
Give a break to hairstyle products – don’t let your wardrobe
be filled with hairsprays and hair colors. Chemical straightening or curling
and using of hairstyling rods excessively will damage hair. Make sure you use
quality hair products.
Avoid too much sunlight – it is advisable to use a scarf or
hat when going out in blazing sun as hair exposed to sun are prone to damage
and friziness.
Too much stress too much hairfall – wake to see your
pillows covered in hair? Before blaming the shampoos and oils remember your
nerves and emotions too have a role in hair fall. Increasing stress levels
makes hair fall.
Use a good conditioner – after shampooing apply a good conditioner.
It neutralizes electrical charge in the hair shaft after shampooing and helps
in detangling the hair
Have your hair trimmed in 2 or 3 months – this helps hair
grow longer faster and avoid split ends.
